Your Personally Identifying Information
We do not sell or rent your personally identifying information, including but not limited to your Mediachest username, email address, postal mail address, phone number, credit card number, and internet chat screen name to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

We may sell or rent statistical information aggregated across all or some of the users of our website which may include you, including but not limited to the number and type of items owned, and frequency of use of our Services. However, we currently do not do this, and if and when we do, we will not associate this data with any personally identifying information.

Your Email Address
We will never sell, rent, share, or give any third party your email address. Furthermore, we will not send you unsolicited advertisements. All of our newsletters are opt-in only, meaning you will not receive them unless you explicitly asked for them. Specifically, you will not receive these unless you check a checkbox designating your wish to receive these items. In an effort to make our users more knowledgeable about our expanding services and new features, our site update email list that may be sent out once or twice a month is opt-out. If Mediachest, Inc. is acquired, bought, or merged with another company the resulting company will be granted full rights to the information contained in our database.

We may very occasionally decide to write personal emails to individual users about specific concerns or bugs (that we have detected they were exposed to) or comments relating to their account. These emails will never be of a promotional nature, and will be highly infrequent. In fact, most of our users will never receive these types of messages.

Bottom line: we never send automated mail to you unless you asked for it. We may send personal mail to you, but it will never be of a promotional nature, and it will be highly infrequent if at all.

As part of the standard set of services that our site offers, you may be automatically emailed alerts by our system that inform you of certain events that have taken place in the system due to your previous actions. These may include, but are not limited to:

When you try to loan an item on our site you may be sent an email to verify that the email address you gave us is working
When someone that is marked as your friend in our site has asked to borrow an item of yours
When someone offers to loan you an item that is in your want list
When someone offers to borrow an item that you are currently listing as available for loaning
When someone that you have previously invited signs up for the website
When you request to have your password emailed to you, or to change your password

Your Passwords
We do not store plaintext passwords in our database, we only store hash values. As such, no one at Mediachest can retrieve your password, nor should they ever ask you for your password. Do not ever give your Mediachest password out to anyone, whether they say they represent Mediachest or not.
